Why I LOVE essential oils

I absolutely love essential oils! These are my current favorites from www.planttherapy.com. I use them to energize, relax, calm, keep bugs away, clear up stuffy noses, relieve headaches, keep sick-bugs away, and much more. I love diffusing essential oils, putting a few drops in the shower, and even using them to make some of my favorite home-made products. As with everything else in the world, you must use essential oils with caution since adults and children can have negative reactions and none of the claims below are FDA approved. Make sure you use carrier oils to dilute essential oils before applying to your skin.

Why I love lavender: I love lavender because of its calming effects. I also love it because I can apply it directly to my children's skin to help heal skin from things such as bug bites, minor burns, and eczema. Lavender is also a great scent to add into laundry soap or the shower. It is also known to help relieve tension headaches.

Sniffle Stopper: This essential oil is a blend of fir needle, rosalina, spruce, cypress, spearmint, and cedarwood virginian. I simply love the smell of this product! It reminds me of walking through a forest. I use this blend of essential oils when we are congested. It does a great job of helping us breathe easier. I also mix Sniffle Stopper with coconut oil to make my very own vapor-rub to apply to my children's chest and just blow their nose when the diffuser is just not enough to fight their congestion.

Moving on to Citronella and Lemongrass: I am talking about these two oils together because I use both to make my homemade Bug Spray since they are both great at repelling bugs. Both oils have an uplifting, citrusy-scent. I love adding either one of these essential oils to my shower in the morning to wake me up! Citronella essential oil can also be used for fever-reduction, anxiety, muscle-spasm, and infected wounds. Lemongrass essential oil is great for pain relief in muscles and joints, depression, insomnia, deodorant, and fighting greasy skin.

Immune Boom: This essential oil is a blend of lemon, palmarosa, dill, petitgrain, copaiba, and frankincense carteri. My kids say this blend of oils reminds them of dill pickles. I love Immune Boom because it helps build my children's immune system which is important to me, especially during cold and flu season. I diffuse this blend of oils through out the cold and flu season so that we get sick less often. When my youngest had a stomach bug about a month ago, I followed everyone around the house with Immune Boom encouraging them to smell it. No one else got the stomach bug so I am definitely a fan of this oil!

Last but not least, Peppermint: Peppermint is another one of my favorite essential oils. This is a great oil to diffuse to help clear up congestion. I also like putting a few drops in my shower to help wake me up in the morning. Peppermint essential oil is great at reducing fevers, pain relief, headaches, stomach aches, and other abdominal issues.
